    Season Update

    Hello Hollymead Hammerheads,

We hope that you are all staying healthy and doing as well as can be expected in this unfortunate circumstance.

The latest from the JSL is the championship meet has been cancelled. This was voted on unanimously by all of the teams since deadlines were approaching, fees needed to be paid and all of the uncertainty at the time.

The next step will be May 3rd when the team reps will be voting to either cancel the regular season or to make a modified meet schedule. There have been many discussions, different options, ideas etc being discussed.

IF the regular JSL season is cancelled each team can make their own plans for practices, team time trials etc.

Either option, competitive JSL season or team practices, will still be contingent on these factors:

    1. What are the state regulations and restrictions for the summer. (Safety first)

    2. Will the Hollymead Pool/Citizens Association open the pool?

    3. If so, will the pool be available to the team to rent?
    4. Is it feasible, cost effective and possible to have any form of practice within the guidelines?

The HMH board has also discussed availability (and current certifications) of our coaches, insurance, safety, schedules, team interest, etc. At this time, if we are to continue in any capacity we don’t know the cost for registration, amount of days available to swim, practice details, etc.

Yes, there is a lot of uncertainty. Regardless of the decision made on May 3rd, we will not be able to move forward with a plan until June 10th when the state regulations are planned to be adjusted.

So please watch your emails and we will contact you when we have a plan and to find your interest level.

    Be safe,
    Hollymead Swim Team Board
Trish, Wes, Pam, Melissa, Shannon, Amanda, Lindsay and Kristen.
