Kickball

We are watching the weather closely and trying for alternative plans and location. I will send an email as soon as we have information to share. 

FSBC meet last Wednesday 

Awesome patience by the entire team for staying at the meet and allowing us to get the meet finished! Thank you for showing up with enthusiasm and great sportsmanship during a difficult meet situation. 

Congratulations to the following swimmers for setting new Team records:

• Kevin Sauer - 28.32 in the 11-12 yo boys 50 M Freestyle - breaking the previous record set by Teddy Cross of 29.09 set at Champs in 2017

• Kevin Sauer- 37.03 in the 11-12yo boys 50 M breaststroke - breaking his own record of 37.13 set at the BHSC meet.

• Charlotte McCready - 31.44 in the 13.14yo girls 50 M Butterfly - breaking her own record of 31.49 set at Champs last year.

• 11.12 Boys 200 M Free Relay - Nate Prochazka, Nate Sauer, Will Litton and Kevin Sauer in a time of 2:01.22. beating the previous record of 2:04.72 set in June 2023 (A Hansen, K Sauer, W Easton and Y Ismailov)

• 11.12 Girls 200 M Free Relay -Molly Moriarty, Elise Guillard, Olivia Baker and Addey Maynard in a time of 2:05.81. Beating the previous record of 2:09.98 set in 2015 (M Rinald, R Kidd, K Hynes and E Andreson)

• 13.14 Girls 200 M Free Relay - Scarlett Owney, Lily Kovach, Charlotte McCready, and Lila Kate Robinson in a time of 2:01/31. Beating the previous record of 2:02.38 (M Rinald, K Hynes, R Kidd, R Murray)

Champs Volunteers

We have filled our required positions as of this morning! THANK YOU so much to all of our amazing volunteers and their families. 

If you have an emergency and are unable to attend, please text me (434.953.8353)  and find a sub for your position. 

JSL is looking for one more person to work on spectator flow for the Saturday AM session and a marshall for Saturday PM.  If you are willing and able to help cover one of those two positions, please email me ASAP. 

Champs Entries 

Entries are attached! Please note that relays will be sent on Thursday night and are subject to change. 

Champs Details 

• We should be getting tent location, parking info, parent memo, etc soon. I will send it as soon as I receive it. The parent memo will have multiple links that should be used to get up to date information, so please make sure to keep it accessible. 
• No tie back suits. 
• No body art for Champs. 
• If there is medical tape, brace, or any medical needs, Coach Helen will need a MD/PT note. Please send this to her ASAP. 
• Swimmers will get their wristbands at the tent before their session. Arrival times and parent volunteer check in time will be sent out, hopefully by Tuesday.
• Heat winners will not receive heat winner ribbons on deck, they will be included in our overall Team award box and can be picked up at the banquet.

Champs Heat Sheet 

Shout out to FCC for working on getting great sponsorships this summer and thus allowing JSL to provide the digital heat sheet for free. I will send out the heat sheet as soon as I have it. 

BANQUET

Our End of the Season Celebration will be on Saturday July 27 at 630pm at the Hollymead Pool. We will have awards, swim, eat, and make some great memories together!

YOU MUST RSVP and Pre-Order any food here by July 23. Please RSVP Yes OR No - either way - as we need a clear head count.

Cupcakes will be provided, but please plan on drinks, sides, and food (either pre-ordered and purchased the night of or bring your own). If you have food allergies in your family, please plan your food accordingly.

SPIRIT WEEK

Please review the Spirit Week Sign Up Genius for volunteering and items needed. We still have several food items needed for Thursday (on page 3 of the sign up genius).  Thank you for helping make this a fun week for all of our swimmers.

• Monday July 22 Kick Ball 630pm - stay tuned for updates 
• Tuesday July 23 Pancakes and Posters - immediately following your normal practice time (practice first, then fun) 
• Wednesday July 24 Talent Show 630pm-8pm on the pool deck. Please SIGN UP! Bring chairs and water. No food provided and no swimming during talent show. (normal morning practice)
• Thursday July 25 Pep Rally at 830am - 11am

Coaches Gifts
