Please see the meet details below from Crozet regarding our meet on Wednesday night.

    ************

    Welcome Hollymead!

All of the members of CGST welcome you and your team to Claudius Crozet Park, home of the Crozet Gators! We are looking forward to seeing you for the meet on Wednesday.

    Where we are located:

    • 1075 Claudius Crozet Park, Crozet, VA 22932

    Meet Details:

    • This week's format is MR/LF with relays at the start and ending with long free.
    • We are also going to stack 8u races (8u freestyle, then immediately after 8u breaststroke, and also 8u backstroke, immediately after the 8u fly). We tried it out last week and got good feedback from parents as it allowed the littles to be a little more focused and will get them out faster.)
    • The small pavilion is open for your team to use as you see fit.
    • The large pavilion will be dedicated to Computer Operators, Table Volunteers and the Clerk of Course.
    • CGST will have a volunteer table set-up on the pool deck at the bottom of the stairs to check in our team’s volunteers. You are welcome to join us to check in your volunteers, as well. We ask them to check in for their assignment no later than 5:30 PM (regardless of HALF).
    • We typically gather all Timers inside the facility at 5:45 for a meeting prior to the meet.
    • All volunteers should listen to the announcer for scheduled meetings (timers, officials etc) and be cognizant of the First Half/Second Half transition.
    • Please note that FIRST HALF volunteers stay in their positions until the end of EVENT 40 (15-18 Breaststroke). SECOND HALF volunteers begin their jobs P41 (6 & Under Backstroke).
    • First half workers should stay in place until Second half volunteers replace you. Timer transitions are more efficient if the first half timers stay put and hold their watches up in the air until a second half timer from our team relieves you.

    Parking:

We are located at 1075 Claudius Crozet Park, Crozet, VA 22932. We have plenty of parking available; we just ask that folks please be aware that the park remains open to the community so the parking lot will not be just swim meet families.

    • We will have reserved parking spaces in the block of spaces adjacent to the playground for the meet director, your computer operator, and your head coach. These spots will be marked with signs.
    • We will have Parking Attendants to assist your families as they arrive. Gators families will park in the marked spots on the far side of the playground, on the basketball court, and in the grassy area between the parking lot and fence along Park Road. Your families have all of the spots in the parking lot proper from the near side of the playground down to the baseball diamonds.
    • Once the meet begins parking will be open to anyone, anywhere on a first come basis

    • We will provide your primary coaching staff a meal for the meet; if you could have the orders submitted by 4:45 on the day of the meet, that would be great. We will pick up and deliver meals after the start of the meet.
    • Here is the meal request link- Meal Form

    Heat Sheets:

Heat sheets will be emailed to you as soon as they are finalized so that you can send them along to your families. We will have copies for all volunteers, coaches and officials but will not have extra copies for families.

A QR code will be on deck for families to access the digital heat sheet.

    Weather:

Crozet Park has the Thor Guard System installed to help with managing safety during all activities at Claudius Crozet Park.

    • The Thor Guard system is located on top of the main building at Claudius Crozet Park. When atmospheric conditions are favorable for a strike, the alarm will go off and send out a 15-second-long blast of the horns. At that time, the red strobe light will turn on and remain on until the all clear signal is given. Once the conditions for lightning have subsided, the system will give three 5 second blasts of the horns indicating all clear and the strobe light will turn off.
    • Once the warning signal goes off (or if you see the strobe light on when you arrive), everyone should go to their cars until the all clear horns sound. No one should remain on the pool deck or under shelters while the system has indicated that conditions are right for a lightning strike. Please remain at the Park until your coach or meet director has given you instructions to leave because we will attempt to resume the meet as soon as it is safely possible.

Safety- The no-depth entry/mushroom area and Baby Pool are closed during the meet and not lifeguarded. The ACAC fitness building is also not open to spectators or swimmers. The pool bathrooms are available to the left of the main entrance. Please keep in mind that these areas are off-limits.

Should anyone require assistance, a staffed first aid station is under the breezeway entrance. Lifeguards and an ACAC manager will be on duty.

Pool Info- Crozet Pool has a 25 meter pool with 8 lanes. Per the schedule, we will swim IM and Free Relays on Wednesday.

    • Clerk of Course is located under the large pavilion at the deep end of the pool.
    • For all 25 m events the timers will have timer sheets to help keep the meet running efficiently.

Where to Sit and Enjoy the Meet:

As your families enter the pool area, head to the right side of the pool. Your team is welcome to set up around the baby pool (although it will be closed), all the way to the far end of the pool. The grassy area between the small pavilion and starters tent will be split between home and visiting teams and the small pavilion is reserved for your team.

    • If any families want extra space, they are welcome to set up out front near the playground.
    • You are welcome to set up tents in the grassy areas
    • A table and chairs will be provided for coaches along the side of the pool, as well as a large jug of water
