Shark Bites: A great first meet and the week ahead

Congratulations!
What a great first meet. Thanks to everyone for sticking through the heat, showing our Hammerhead pride, and cheering on all swimmers. We saw fast swims, first time fun, and great sportsmanship.
New Record!
Congratulations to Molly Elmore! Her 38.50 50-breaststroke swim broke the Hollymead 13-14 girls record previously set by Lily Kovach (38.72).
Saturday Stroke Clinic
Saturday’s focus stroke is backstroke. These clinics are optional but can be very helpful in improving skills with small group instruction. RSVPs are required for the clinic - Visit HollymeadHammerheads.Swimtopia.com>Events and save your spot for the appropriate age group slot. 11&over, 8:30am; 10&under, 9:30am. $5 cash per swimmer at the door. RSVP deadline is noon Friday.
Wednesday’s Meet: at City
Our next meet is Wednesday at City Swordfish. PLEASE PLEASE declare whether your swimmer available to attend by noon FRIDAY. Coaches need to know a yes/no for meet entry purposes. Meet Volunteers
You’ve seen how complex meets are - all this is due to volunteers. Please sign up to help at both every home and away meet in which your child swims. If you’re planning ahead, go ahead and select your jobs now for the rest of the season! Again, help please fill our volunteer sheet by noon Friday.

Our talented team photographer needs to take the week off. If someone would like to take photos of our swimmers and the action, there are now first and second half jobs for a photographer in the list.
Evening Practices
Please remember that we do not have unlimited water space or coaching at evening practices. Only swimmers with prior written approval directly from Coach Helen should attend an evening practice. For this coming week there are no more spots available for 8u or 9-12 swimmers who have not yet received a confirmation email from Coach.
Team Photo
Mark your calendar! We will take a full Hammerhead team photo on Thursday, July 2 at 9:30am. This is a fun day; we’re scheduling it between swim sessions and before donuts and fruit. Come dressed in your team suit!
