Hi Hammerhead Families,

It is Champs time! We are SO excited to wrap up another incredible summer together! This is always one of the most exciting days of the season, and we can't wait to watch our swimmers race, cheer each other on, and represent Hollymead with pride.

No matter where our swimmers finish, our goal is simple: swim your best, encourage your teammates, and show outstanding sportsmanship. Cheer for your fellow Hammerheads, congratulate competitors from other teams, thank the volunteers, and remember that how we represent our team is just as important as the times on the scoreboard.

Session Arrival Times

Please arrive no later than the following times:

• Session 1 (11–12 year olds): 9:30 AM
• Session 2 (13 & Older): Before 1:15 PM
• Session 3 (8 & Under): 7:30 AM
• Session 4 (9–10 year olds): Before 12:45 PM

Please allow extra travel time for parking and the walk from Charlottesville High School to the pool. Parking fills quickly, and it can take longer than expected to get to our team area.

What to Pack

Be prepared for a long (and hopefully exciting!) day.

- Hollymead swim cap

- Goggles (consider bringing a backup pair)

- Towels

- Blanket and/or chair (our team area is in a grassy field)

- Tent or shade if your family has one

- Flip-flops or sandals with your swimmer's name clearly written on them (the walk between the tent, Clerk of Course, and pool deck gets very hot)

- Plenty of snacks and water

- Sunscreen

- Games, cards, coloring books, or other quiet activities for the team tent

Team Expectations

Please help us keep everyone safe and organized.

Swimmers should only be in one of these locations:

- The Hollymead team tent

- Clerk of Course

- The pool deck when it's time to race

- The restroom

Please do not allow swimmers to run through other team tents or play on the playground during the meet. It is important that coaches and parents always know where swimmers are so they don't miss an event.

Relay lineups are subject to change based on attendance and meet-day circumstances, so please stay flexible and listen for coach announcements.

This has been such a fun season, and we are incredibly proud of every Hammerhead. Thank you to all of our families for your support, encouragement, volunteering, and team spirit all summer long.

Let's finish the season the Hammerhead way—with fast swims, loud cheers, great sportsmanship, and lots of fun!
